How many times have you heard “Mom play with me” or “Mom I am bored, let’s do something” and you’ve left all your duties just to play with your child? We think that it is absolutely important for you to play with your kid and spend most of your time with him/her,…
Kid’s Birthday Party: Basic Tips
Children’s parties are a delight to both the children and their parents, who get to relax a bit and eat some sweets while their little ones play and interact with other children, but throwing a kid’s birthday party can get hard on you and your wallet, so keep these tips in mind and you’ll have every kid leaving happy and with a full belly – or crying because they want to stay longer.
• Know your budget: Sure, you might want to throw a big party with a trampoline and a professional clown, and that’s great if you can afford it, but kids have a natural tendency to enjoy simple pleasures, they might be equally as happy with a chocolate cake or a fancy petit gateau. The main thing to keep in mind is to know how much you can spend so you know exactly where the money is going and don’t end up wasting it.
• Pick a theme, any theme: Superheroes and princesses are always a safe bet, but there’s inspiration to be found in all kinds of unexpected places. Your daughter’s birthday can be a very special Cupcake Party in which a responsible adult helps them decorate the pastries with star-shaped candy, chocolate sprinkles and M&Ms, or you can make your son very happy with a Theatre Club in which all of his friends can watch Pixar movies while eating popcorn and ice cream.
• Don’t forget about the grown-ups…: Unless you want to take care of 20+ children all by yourself, you can always invite the kid’s parents along and they’ll help keep their children at bay should anything happen, but don’t forget that it can get pretty boring for them unless you provide some sort of entertainment. Pair your kid’s birthday party with a barbecue for the grown-ups and everybody leaves satisfied.
• …but always remember it’s a kid’s party, and your primary focus is to make sure the kids are having fun without wreaking havoc all over the place.
Keeping these tips in mind, you can have great, inexpensive birthday parties for your kids while saving the big guns for your daughter’s Sweet Sixteen.
